2015 – What’s Hot!

Here’s a list of interior trends taking hold in 2015.

While most of us love to stay up to date with trends, remember they’re seasonal. It’s all about what you love. So choose classic items and make them ultra trendy with occasional furniture and accessories.

So, What’s Hot:

Chinoiserie – French for Chinese Style. It’s a style Europeans adored around 18th Century following trips to China by tourists and traders. With beautiful colours, imagery and lines a chinoiserie piece will make a fantastic focal (and talking) point.

Decorative Tiles

Expect to see decorative/patterned tiles everywhere! They add depth and personality. Whether it’s a tiled wall, floor or back-splash the tiles will instantly update your space.

I have a real soft spot for mid-century furniture and accessories. It’s simple, elegant and bold. Think 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. Surely the parent’s/grandparent’s shed is holding on to a treasure or two 😉

Moody Blues

I know this must seem repetitive. I said the exact same thing about 2014! You can see that here. But dark blues are making an even bigger impact this year. I know it’s quite daunting to use dark colours but bring them into your interior in accents such as occasional furniture, scatter cushions etc.

Mixed Metals

We’ve seen lots of copper for the last year. It’s sticking around for 2015 but this time it’s bringing its metal siblings. Mixing metals such as copper and chrome is no longer a faux pas. The more metals the better! So root out all those gold, brass and stainless steel accessories you’ve been hiding in the attic 😉

Bring on 2015!
